Return /Cancellations Policy

ALL PAYPAL SALES ARE FINAL.  ANY DEFECTS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE MANUFACTURER.  The reason for this policy is the amount of discount we sell at makes it that we would lose money in shipping fees sending out a replacement unit.  All scales are brand new and in very rare instances a scale could be defective upon receipt and the purchaser agrees the "assumption of risk".  All balances/scales are warrantied by the manufacturer to be free of defects in material and workmanship and not Precison Weighing Balances.  A full listing with all the manufacturer's phone numbers can be found here.

ALL OTHER CLAIMS MUST BE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF RECEIPT.  In the event that you need to return a product, please contact our Customer Service Department at 978-521-7095 for a Return Goods Authorization Number("R.G.A. #").  Request for returns must be made within 5 days of receipt from our shipping carrier.  After 5 days, any problems you have with your equipment should be addressed directly to the manufacturer.  Your return must be received within 10 days from the date the R.G.A.# is issued.  All returns/cancellations will be subject to a 20% restocking fee, minimum $100.

No returns, cancellations or exchanges will be accepted for special orders (items not currently in stock at our warehouse in Bradford, MA) nor sales outside the USA.  Special order item(s) can not be canceled once the order has been placed at the factory.  Exchanged merchandise cannot be returned for a second exchange or credit

NO ORDERS CAN BE CANCELED ONCE IT HAS BEEN SHIPPED!!  Undeliverable or refused shipments will be subject to a 20% restocking fee of the selling price and the S&H is not refundable.  Precision Weighing Balances is not responsible for shipping problems accepting the parcel from the freight carrier resulting in your parcel being returned and all returns will be consider refused resulting in the following fee assessed.  Items sold by Precision Weighing Balances with a free shipping offer will be have a $15 S&H fee deducted even though the offer on line is free shipping.  Example 1- We may offer free shipping on Siltec PS500L Scales.  If you purchase the Siltec PS500L and the parcel was refused or returned undeliverable we would credit your credit card as follows.  Selling price - minus 20% - minus $15 ($179.95 - 20% = $143.96, $143.96 - $15 = $128.96.  Therefore the refund posted would be $128.96).  Example 2 - You purchased a Toyo pocket scale and the S&H fee on this item is not free shipping but instead $6.95.  Selling price - minus 20% - minus the S&H fee for that item ($55.00 - 20% = $44.00, $44.00 - $6.95 = $37.05.  Therefore the refund posted would be $37.05).

There may be times when UPS/USPS may have to trace a package (although very rare, it may happen) please allow time for the package to get traced.  Precision Weighing Balances is not responsible for the extra time that this may take.

All returns must be authorized and clearly showing the R.G.A on outside of the shipping carton.  Pack all items to be returned in a sturdy shipping carton (you may use the original shipping carton if you wish).  Do not tape or deface manufacturer's original (product) cartons.  Ship returned items back to us and insure the parcel for the actual value.  We do not except unauthorized returns.  If customer ships unauthorized return product back to the factory we are not responsible for the outcome. 

All returned merchandise must be in unused, resalable condition and that product is in original packaging with all manuals, instructions, warnings and warranties.  Defective items must be returned in their entirety including AC adapter, calibration mass and any accessories that came with the scale/balance.   Product(s) returned not meeting these terms may be refused and returned to the sender (freight collect).  All returns/cancellations will be subject to a 20% restocking fee, minimum $100.

Returned merchandise must be shipped freight prepaid and insured for the full value or the merchandise.  Please include a copy of your invoice and a note explaining why you are returning the merchandise. 

Credit for returns are normally processed within 5 business days from the date we receive the merchandise.  Credit will be applied to the credit card used when the original order was placed.  In the event your order was paid by check or money order, a refund check will be mailed to you at the address to which we shipped the order.

SPECIAL CONDITION FOR BABY SCALES We recommend you clearly review the different baby scales available and the capacity, accuracy and features each model offers prior to making your final selection.  In the unlikely event you receive a defective pediatric / baby scales we will assist you in receiving an exchange from the manufacturer.  My Weigh baby scales that are defective can be exchanged for the same model by filling out a request on line hereWe can not accept returns directly to our facility since we do not have the facilities and equipment to handle medical equipment related to biological hazards in a safe manner within OSHA requirements.  All pediatric / baby scales shipped from our warehouse are brand new.

SPECIAL CONDITION FOR CALIBRATION WEIGHTS AND WEIGHT SETS All calibration weights are not returnable. Once your order has been placed it CAN NOT be cancelled. Please carefully consider this prior to placing your order. The reason for this is these weights are custom manufactured and are certified on the date they were made.  In addition, if you touch the calibration weight with your fingers the oil in your skin would change the tolerance and we can not take this chance if the weight was returned.

Shipment Claim

Your order is filled, checked, rechecked and packed with great care.  If damage has occurred, keep the carton and all of the packing material.  Please report the details immediately to the carrier and then contact one of our Customer Service Representatives.  If an item is damaged in transit carrier will recover the parcel and a replacement unit will be issued once the damage claim has been paid to us by the shipping carrier.  We can not ship a replacement unit unit the shipping carrier has completed their investigation and has paid the damage claim.

Any defective or damage products must be claimed within 5 days after you received the parcel from our carrier.
