The optional
screw-in hanger facilitates below-the-balance weighing for specific
gravity applications.
RS-232
interface comes as standard for printing of results using the optional
Adam thermal printer or connection to a PC using an aftermarket
data collection program enabling the balances to be integrated into
an ISO/GLP quality system.

Parts Counting: The AFP/G Series comes standard with
a parts counting mode and is perfect for weighing small parts.
The six digit display allows you to count up to 999,999 parts
simply by pressing the "F" keypad and cycling through
the function settings to the piece counting mode. Unlike
typical counting scales that only allow you to enter a simple
of 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces to determine the average piece
weight the AFP allows you to set any sample size you want
up to 999,999. The balance can be tared to eliminate
the package/container weight allowing you to count parts directly
in the shipping container and eliminating any chance of the
parts falling and not making it to the carrier container.
A good application to use the counting feature might be an
electronic kitting house packaging electronic surface mount
capacitors or coils to send off to their company's assembly
facility. With the tare
feature you can tare out the plastic carriage holder typically
used for transporting surface mount components. Quickly
drop the parts in each individual hole until you get the required
count shown on the balance's display need for that particular
job and sent it off to the surface mount machine. Eliminate
the need to count columns and rows to determine the amount
of parts by using the piece counting feature with the Adam
AFP/G Series.

| Special
Note: The AFP Series features special software that
can't be disabled which monitors changes in the temperature
and trigger an audible warning signal that the ambient temperature
has changed enough (typically 6°C from when last calibrated)
to warrant recalibrating the balance. While this feature
is great to ensure the utmost accuracy it is also a major
nuisance if you did not purchase the optional calibration mass.
The balance will
beep once every 30 seconds until the balance is recalibrated.
This audible warning beep is similar to when your smoke detector
battery is low. If you don't have the required calibration
mass (each model has a specific required cal mass listed in
the specs table above) you'll have a balance that you can still
weigh on, but you'll also have a audible chirp approximately
every 30 seconds. We highly recommend the calibration
mass if you don't have one when you purchase the balance.
In addition, we are located near Boston, MA and if you're in
sunny California or the muggy marshes of Florida, you can rest
assured there is a 6°C temperature difference so you'll
have the audible warning right when you take the balance out
of the box. The
AFP can also be purchased with the optional internal motorized calibration
for an additional $200 and then all you need to do is press the
keypad to perform the calibration automatically. |
